Chile aims to enhance its food control system, recognizing the need for strategic planning and improved governance in food safety.
The Chilean Food Safety and Quality Agency (ACHIPIA) collaborates with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to launch the “Evaluación del sistema de control de los alimentos de Chile,” marking the first-ever food control system assessment in Latin America.
The assessment, funded by FAO and the Chilean government, reflects a commitment to building an inclusive and sustainable food control system. Over the next eight months, FAO experts will work with local authorities to evaluate and enhance the national food control system, setting a potential benchmark for the region’s approach to food safety and quality.
